Director of Psychology, Professor Greg Benson-Florez
Dr. Gregory Benson-Flórez earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2010 in Counseling Psychology. He earned his MA in Counseling Psychology and B. S. in Psychology from Western Michigan University. He is a psychologist that has actively presented, published and engaged in the mental health profession with a focus on Latine/x Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Family systems, Diversity, Social Justice and International Psychology. He has taught in Clinical, Counseling, and General Psychology programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels during the previous 15 years serving as department chair and/or full-time faculty. His research interests include psychosocial stressors associated with immigration, acculturation, ethnic identity, racism, discrimination among Latine/x individuals and people of color. In addition, his interests include international psychology with a focus in Latin America. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his spouse and their young child along with traveling including visiting family in Latin America.
